Olive 2023 Magazine Redesign

THE AIM

The purpose of this project was to redesign Olive magazine with a fresh look to engage the current audience and beyond. Olive magazine is a premium, monthly British food magazine featuring triple-tested recipes, restaurant recommendations, and food-focused travel.

THE CHALLENGE

This redesign aimed to stand out from the previous creatives through a clean, elevated look. Many of the magazine features needed updating and decluttering in order to contend against competitors' premium titles. Alongside the team, my role focused on redesigning a few key layouts within the magazine: Two's Company, Pro Vs Punter, Cook Like a Local and others.

THE OUTCOME

By identifying the key elements that weren't effective, I redesigned the layouts and typography of each feature with a focus on maintaining the Olive brand look and feel. The addition of a new script font particularly expressed the premium feel of the brand and effectively complimented the clean, simple layouts and stunning photography.
